Can You Talk Climate? | Climate Research Methods & Communication

This interdisciplinary session led by Laurel DiSera, M.A., will teach participants about climate research methods, building off of the scientific method, and climate communication, through an understanding of heuristics and biases. Activities intertwined in the presentation will allow participants to create their own methodology for solving a local climate issue and construct a compelling argument to convince an individual to either help promote their project or take action. This activity is suitable for students in grades 7-12, and educators.

Presenter: Laurel DiSera, Graduate Research Assistant, International Research Institute for Climate and Society, the Earth Institute, Columbia University
