More than 3,000 participants, including families, school and scout groups, undergraduate and graduate students, teachers, and science-minded adults of all ages attend the Lamont-Doherty Open House every year. The event is free and open to the public, with a $5 suggested donation.

Bus from Morningside Heights to the Lamont Campus

Buses depart for the LDEO campus in Palisades, N.Y., from 120th Street (between Amsterdam and Broadway, in front of Teachers College) in 15 minute increments beginning at 9:15 a.m.

Buses return to 120th Street (between Amsterdam and Broadway, in front of Teachers College) from LDEO In 15 minute increments from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Shuttle buses run between the Crestron Electronics parking lot and the Lamont Campus on a regular basis.

THE LAST SHUTTLE BUS FROM CRESTRON ELECTRONICS TO LDEO DEPARTS AT 3:00 P.M. 

Buses will continue to run from LDEO back to Crestron through the end of the event at 4:00 P.M.

School & Group Information

If you are planning a trip to Open House for a school or other large group, or if you have special needs, please call 845-365-8968 for information and to make arrangements. It is essential that all children be supervised at Open House and that all such groups are chaperoned.
