To Farm or Not to Farm: An Introduction to Index Insurance

When we do insurance projects to help low income farmers manage climate risk, how do we make sure we are doing them justice, and meeting their needs? The first video provides an overview, the second video shows how research is used to make projects better, and the third video talks about how we are using new technologies to connect more directly with farmers in the future.

Scientists and farmers in Honduras explain how interactive simulations help them co-develop an insurance product to mitigate drought risk. These experimental activities have supported farmers designing their own climate risk management tools.
